Bad Code Update Was The Cause Behind Microsoft Services Outage

Yesterday, Microsoft services including Bing, Outlook.com, etc, went down for about 20 minutes. According to Reuters, the outage was caused due to a bad code update and then struggled to roll it back. They also confirmed that it as not due to any hacking or external attack.
After the crash, Microsoft’s roll-back procedure failed, forcing it to shut down its groups of linked servers to get back the point where everything worked smoothly, the person said.
“This morning, some of our customers experienced a brief, isolated services interruption which has now been resolved,” a Microsoft spokesman said.
